Choose PubPreppers.com if:
You want someone else to assist with print and ebook formatting and conversion, as well as cover design, but you want to do everything else yourself, including submitting your print book files and listing information to Spark (Lightning Source) and Ingram, and your ebook files to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Apple. Your setup fees will be higher but you will earn 100% royalties. You will also be responsible for maintaining your listings, keeping your accounts current at the firms above, any fees those firms charge, as well as processing credit cards if you choose to take orders for your books yourself.
NOTE: You will be responsible for purchasing ISBNs for the print and epub versions of your book. However, you will pay less when ordering copies of your own print book. You can also choose your own list price, and be limited only by what the printer or the ebook retailers charge you for each transaction.

You’d like to spend more time writing than running a publishing company, if you don’t have a website (we offer a specific book page for each book on BookLocker.com for direct orders ), if you don’t want to take credit cards and collect/report sales tax when selling the book yourself, deal with customer service issues, assist buyers who are confused about ebooks/downloading, and other business and administrative aspects of publishing. If you prefer to just write and do online promotion, but want to let somebody else handle the business end, choose BookLocker.com.
In a nutshell, if you want someone else to handle not only interior and cover design but also distribution, order processing, fulfillment, customer service, etc., choose BookLocker. You will pay less for setup fees (half), but will also earn less in royalties, and pay more when you purchase copies of your own book. BookLocker has minimum list prices that must be adhered to.
NOTE: If you choose BookLocker.com, you will not need to pay any fees charged by the printer because BookLocker will submit to them directly. Also, if you choose BookLocker, you will not need to purchase your own ISBNs. BookLocker will assign theirs at no extra charge. (ISBNs are $125 each or $250 for a block of 10). BookLocker.com reviews manuscripts for quality and salability, and will reject manuscripts that do not meet their standards. You will need to SUBMIT YOUR MANUSCRIPT FOR CONSIDERATION before signing up.
